3 1/2 Weeks

Can you believe it’s been 3 1/2 weeks since baby Cora was born? I sure can’t. Cora is changing so much everyday and she’s getting so big!

I realized last night as I was trying to write about her birth in my journal that I didn’t remember exactly how long she was and we didn’t post any of her stats on the blog. What an oversight. So here ya have it. She was born at 5:19 pm, 7 lbs 9 oz, 20 1/2 inches. Totally adorable. At her 2 week appointment she was up to 7 lbs 14 oz. She’s already too long for a lot of her newborn jammies, but most of the 0-3 month ones are way too big. Oh well.

Cora is a really good baby. She usually decides to get kind of fussy around 9 or 10 when I’m thinking about going to bed. Andy has been getting her to sleep and bringing her to bed around 12. At first she was going 4+ hours at night between feedings, but the last week or so it’s been more like 3 hours, so that’s kind of uncool of her. Drew didn’t sleep through the night until he was one, but I’d really like it to be sooner than that this time. I don’t really know how to make that happen though…any ideas?

Drew is absolutely loving Cora and he was been doing really well with the changes. He’s even been sleeping in longer than normal which is super nice for me. He loves to hold Cora and give her kisses on her mouth. I was worried that he wouldn’t like her and that he’d hit her and all that, but he’s cool so far.

My friend let us borrow a swing and it’s been awesome! Cora really likes it most of the time.

I’m just kind of randomly inserting pictures cause I want to post some. I tried to take a picture of Cora next to her bear so we can track how big she is, but Drew came and laid on top of the bear. He looks gigantic.

People have been so good to me and life is good.

Wow, there are so many pictures I’d like to post on here. I guess you’ll just have to look at them on picasa. If you need to know how to look at them there, let me know.

Here she is snuggled in with mommy. They are both adorable.

And here is a blurry picture of her face.

She’s complete, the doctor is being paged. She’s still pretty numb from the epidural though so hopefully it all goes OK.

Ann got her epidural and she’s all cath’d up. They checked her and she’s dilated to a 4. Contractions look like they are getting stronger based on the graph Hopefully she can sleep for a bit and get some rest.

The Dr. has broken Ann’s water. She was really nervous because it was the same Dr. that did it for Drew and she felt like he was pretty brutal. This time was way faster, and way less painful. The Dr. expects her contractions to get a lot more intense now, and last time they told her after they broke her water to expect 1 cm of dilation per hour. If that holds true then we’re looking at a baby at 7:30 pm. I’m hoping before that.

Ann is having some contractions, but nothing else has changed. We are waiting for the Dr. to come and break her water, which will hopefully be soon :)

We woke up this morning at 4:40 am (UGH) and headed over to McDonald’s. I know right? Ann really wanted some breakfast before we went in and she was going to eat yogurt and grapes but decided on a sausage McMuffin instead. Once we got here it took 2 nurses and 4 tries to get her IV in. 2 veins burst, Ann said that she is feeling abused. Here is a picture of her all happy with her battle wounds.

Ann didn’t get the nurse that she really likes, but the nurse she did get is really nice and she does like her. She was dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced when they started her on the pitocin, which is better than when she started with Drew, so hopefully this will happen faster. Now I’m gonna sleep for a bit.

The Last Sunday….I think.

I am 90% sure this is my last Sunday being pregnant, but I thought that last week as well, so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it goes. I had an amnio last Wednesday to check the maturity of the baby’s lungs with plans for an induction the next day. I fully expected everything to look good because it did the other times, although I’m sure that has nothing to do with this pregnancy. So obviously since I’m still pregnant I got word that the lungs were not quite ready yet but I could go ahead and be induced anytime after 38 weeks, which is today. So I’m rescheduled for tomorrow and I’m hoping it all works out this time.

I have a picture from when I was pregnant with Drew on the Sunday before he was born, so I made Andy take a picture of me last week, and of course again this week. I decided this week that I had better wear the same outfit as I did in Drew’s picture. I think this may be the key to getting the baby here.

So here is a little comparison. The first picture is from this pregnancy…today. I’m 38 weeks exactly.

Here is my last Sunday with Drew picture. I was 36 weeks 3 days.

I certainly do look gigantic. Awesome.

28 years, 28 weeks

We set up our tripod and took a few family pics. This was on my 28th birthday and I was 28 weeks pregnant.

Doesn’t Andy look great after losing 20 pounds?

I am feeling huge and awkward. It’s getting harder to move and I find myself involuntarily grunting when I try to bend down or get up, so that’s nice. The scary part is I’ve still got 2 months to get bigger and more uncomfortable!

Drew is so fun and cute as ever. A month or so ago we finally took away his binkie and got him a toddler bed. He really didn’t care about the binkie at all. I was more attached to it than he was apparently. He’s done pretty well with his new bed. He fell off a lot at first, and quite often when we check on him he’s on the floor, but we just move him back into bed.

He likes to sleep with his teddy bear and his baby (Andy’s old Cabbage Patch Kid), so that’s totally adorable. Sometimes he wants his truck on the pillow too or a snack or something. He’s talking a lot. Not in sentences yet, but I’m sure that will be soon.

He finally learned how to climb onto the couch and kitchen chairs, etc. However, he has only climbed up onto the kitchen table once which is amazing. That was when he first learned how, so hopefully he’s over that for awhile.

Drew loves to play with trucks and balls. He has a lawn mower that he loves to push around outside. He loves to be outside and he especially loves playing in the dirt, and playing with his friend, Sam. (Even though they don’t actually interact at all yet.)

I also have to post another dorky coupon triumph picture. I got all of these Sobe’s for free. That’s right, there’s 40 of them. I even made like 10$ (in gift cards). Yeah, it was exciting. I had to get access to like a million computers though to print all of the coupons.

Finally, Andy and my parents went in and got me this seatbelt diaper bag for my birthday. It’s like the best of both worlds. The seatbelt bags are super durable which is a problem I had with my other diaper bags. They’re super cute, but wear out easily. This thing is HUGE though. It’s like a suitcase or something. And since it’s made from seatbelts it’s really, really heavy. I’m kind of nervous about that, but whatever. We’ll see how it goes. I’ve been using it and I do enjoy how big it is. Here’s a picture next to my other diaper bag, which is also pretty big, so you can get an idea of the size of this thing. Seriously massive.

So…I was just planning on posting one family pic and a few sentences, and it turned into this. Enjoy.
